Anna Fox

Anna Fox has been associated with Fotonet for many years. As an established British photographer and an experienced teacher, she was a valuable member of the steering committee. So for the re-launch of the website we are very pleased to highlight her success as one of the four shortlisted artists for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize, currently showing at the Photographers Gallery.

The Deutsche Börse Photography Prize aims to reward the contemporary photographer of any nationality who has made the most significant contribution (exhibition or publication) to the medium of photography in Europe in the previous year.

The exhibition “Cockroach Diary and Other Stories”, which gained her the nomination, was curated by Anne McNeill, director of Impressions Gallery. Following the launch of the exhibition in Bradford, Fotonet at The Winchester Gallery showed the exhibition in November/December 2008 with great success. The gallery had never been so full of stories; illustrated by colour prints, books, slide projection and video and the place was alive with the public and private lives that Anna Fox has recorded around her.
